In 1958, James Lowery of Johnson City,
Tenn., purchased this '57 Ford from Buck Baker. Bill Morton drove
it in NASCAR's convertible division to a 12th place finish in the
point standings in '58. He drove this car in the last race ever
held on the beach course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Bill Morton drove this car to victory
on July 4, 1956 in Pulaski, Va. But the checkered flag was all he
received for the victory, as the promoter took all of the money
and left the track before the race was over.
