Anybody watching the season debut of "American Idol?" That's one show I watch from beginning to end.

I'm even missing the first half of my beloved Tennessee Vols playing Kentucky in basketball to watch the second hour of AI.

I watched the first half and recorded the last half on my DVR and havent watched it yet.  I think it is awful how some of these people get on there and  get made fun of.  Sometimes I think they pay actors or maybe just people who want to make extra money to get on there and do this stuff.  I just cant imagine anyone in their right mind getting on there and doing some of the things they do and thinking they are going to have a chance to be a winner and get a recording contract.

Watched the game and recorded Idol...Meeks went OFF for KY...very Jordanesque. We didn't have a prayer with the daggers he stuck in us every time we did something good.

I agree "susieqtoo," it is unreal just how awful some of the contestants are in the shows where talent is being evaluated. Just tonight, the guy who claimed to be kin to Hank Williams Jr., well, let's just say he's no Bocephus. And some other contestants were real bad, too.

Maybe we need to have an edition of RacersLounge Idol, and all of us gather and sing karaoke.

I know "BugMan" can sing, I've heard him belt out a fabulous rendition of the national anthem.

How about you "susieqtoo," you up for singing karaoke? And "WOO-WOO," she and Cindy can sing a duet. HA HA HA HA

"SpeedRacer" and I will be talent judges. Hmmmmmmmmm, he and I need us a Paula Abdul sidekick.

We've been watching! Some of them are tone deaf and a lot are "legends in their own minds"!

I cracked up watching AI last night it was even funnier than the first night. Like I said before I can not imagine anyone being that naive.  It is entertaining but at the expense of these poor people.  The one with the cheerleaders wasnt too bad but I think the cheerleaders ruined it for him.

There are 4 coon hounds here in the dog lot that sounds better than some that tried out on the show.  They can even carry a tune!! We have soprano, tenor, alto and bass.

The ones they chose last night, except one, sounded pretty good.

They need to show AI one night and YTYCD, (You Think You Can Dance)the next night till the shows are over!!! Or at  least till they weed out the worst of the bunch!!!

Did y'all watch Tuesday and Wednesday night's "American Idol?"

Wow, weren't those some bozos out on San Francisco on Tuesday night's show. And on Wednesday night, that black guy near the end of the show who came in all full of himself with confidence, when he started out singing by yelling and stomping his feet, I about jumped off the couch. It startled me, just like it did the judges. HA HA HA HA

I'm telling you, it's truly amazing just how awful some of the contestants are ... who really think they can sing. I believe some contestants just show up as a joke, but I also believe some contestants really think they can sing, when in all reality they can't carry a tune in a bucket.

They were in KY last night. One guy, who didn't make the cut,  told them to be careful when he left his audition and Simon took it as a threat!

It's a "Southern or Redneck" saying.

Now that ol' boy, he was kind of "scary." I about rolled off the couch into the floor when he began singing George Jones' "White Lightnin'." HA HA HA HA

After he was told he didn't have what it took to get a ticket to Hollywood, as he was walking away, he said "Be careful." And "WOO-WOO" as you stated, Simon said "I believe he was threatening us."

I just don't believe the ol' boy "got it" when Paula said to him "You don't tell people 'Be careful' as you're walking away."

I guess with the judges' not being up on redneck Southern talk, they could've taken it as they were being threatened. Especially with the guy being kind of, as Lynyrd Skynyrd sang about those "Wild Eyed Southern Boys." HA HA HA HA HA

That was really goofy...they should've check around with the locals...they'd have found out that in these parts, it's basically a caring statement.

I agree with you "BugMan," that really was a touching story about that girl and the family hardships she's endured. It made cold chills run over my body when she started crying once she realized she was getting a ticket to Hollywood.

She sang a song she'd written, and I thought it was pretty good. Heck, Simon even liked it, and that's saying something. HA HA HA

Hey RW...

Have you noticed a "kinder, gentler" Simon this season?

I think breaking up with his girlfriend has taken some pressure off.

Yeah, having no female around will take some pressure off a guy. HA HA HA HA

I like what Robbie Henry has in his signature when he posts: It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Well, tonight was from Jacksonville, Fla., and some intersting people were showcased.

I really liked the girl who performed last. I forget her name, but she had long hair ... and was very pretty. She had a very good voice, and I believe she'll do well on the show.

Now tonight's opening performance, the guy singing Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On," how in the world he received a ticket to Hollywood is beyond me.

I didn't care for the boy who wore the bandana. Not because he wore the bandana, but because of his attitude after he didn't receive a ticket. He acted just like some spoiled-azz kid. Outside where his family awaited, he wouldn't let his mother or anyone hug him. Ryan Secrest even said "She's your mother!" I forget now his exact words, but I believe he said to his mother "I don't want you hugging me." He just kept on, saying he knew he had talent and could make it in Hollywood. I liked it when Simon told him he needed to get a job. Randy told him to get a job and work up a band and just keep practicing his music. The boy was upset and crying to begin with when he realized he wouldn't be permitted to play his guitar.

Tomorrow night it's off to Salt Lake City, Utah.

"susieqtoo" and "BugMan" and others, let's hear your review.

So many that try out for the show are already "Legends in their own minds"!! Especially the ones with moms or dads that are tone deaf.

The last guy always had his guitar with him, must be his security blanket. One girl even brought her dog.

Well I thought the bandana, guitar kid should've made it when compared to a few they sent through.

RW...if you like the one that performed last then your've been smokin something, LOL. The one that performed last was the one that they invited her friend in and she attempted to do Mariah's high notes, LOL, then cried when Simon told her it was bad, prompting the rest of the judges to do a "Big Group Hug", with her LOL.

Ann-Marie is the girl you're talking about...the one the had leave and come back...she will go far in the competition....she performed next to last.

Yea Bug man I also thought the girl they sent out and let her ome back was one of the best so far, also liked the one with the bandana but without his guitar he lost his security blanket and also lost his confidence.

I thought when Paula jumped over on the other lady judge that she was going to pull her dress off right in front of everyone. Looked like she had to do some adjusting when Paula got up.

Yeah, that's her ... Anne Marie Boskovich. And wow, isn't she a pretty sight on the ol' eyes, too? HA HA HA

Oh wow, ol' Minnie Ripperton wannabe was AWFUL!!!! I knew just lookin' at her that no way would she be able to hit the high notes in "Loving You." Heck, she couldn't carry a tune in "WOO-WOO's" milk bucket. LOL LOL LOL

When they brought the singer's friend in to meet Randy, and she sat on his lap, then that led to Ryan Seacrest coming and sitting on Kara DioGuardi's lap, and Paula sat on Simon's lap. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I'd like to have been in Simon's place at that moment. HA HA HA

Also, what about that physics student who hopes to have marble floors in 10 years' time? That cracked me up when he was asked where he'd like to be in 10 years, and he said he'd like to have marble floors. ROFL

Hey "BugMan," you might find this funny. A buddy of mine today told me that physics student reminded him of me years ago when I had a full, thick brown beard and a head-full of brown hair. Remember the photos I recently sent you, where it showed a bushy beard I had back in the mid-1980s?

Heck, I'm not George Strait or Alan Jackson, but I will occasionally sing karaoke here at the house when some friends drop by. LOL LOL LOL ... I'm just practicing for when I decide to try out for Nashville's "You Can Be A Star." HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAA ... Maybe ol' John Rich will have me on season four of "Gone Country." Does anyone watch that show? Last Saturday night was this season's first show, and an intersting group is on this year's "Gone Country." I couldn't believe it when I saw George Clinton was one of the people.

I'll admit, the boy with the bandana was an OK singer. I just didn't like his attitude towards others once he got outside the doors, especially with his mother. I've read online some this afternoon about last night's show, and Ryan's comment directed to the boy was "That's your mother, you can't do that."

Decisions, decisions, decisions on what to watch ... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN is Duke vs. Wake Forest and then at 8 p.m. on Fox is "American Idol" and also on TV at 8 o'clock is the Tennessee Vols vs. LSU. Locally in the Tri-Cities the Vols game will be available on WAPK.

I believe I'll watch the first hour of Duke and the Demon Deacons, then watch "American Idol" and flip over to the Vols during commercials.

Oh, I cannot believe that Katrina "Bikini Girl" Darrell got booted last night. Wow, is she a hotttttttttttttttttttttt-eeeeeeeeeeeeeee or what?

She's a doll-baby, brown hair and brown-eyed. Ol' Simon Cowell even was quite smitten over her.

But Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi didn't like her. I believe they both felt threatened because "Bikini Girl" was sooooooooooooooooooooo pretty.

I also hated seeing David Osmond getting the boot. I thought he was quite talented, but I believe him being of the famous "Osmond family," overall it hurt his chances.

Well, the number of contestants since getting to Hollywood have been cut down to, I'm thinking they said 75 going into next week.

Really, some contestants got booted off that I thought might not. And some I thought would get booted, got to stay. Oh, well.

Hey "BugMan," did "Bikini Girl" make your heart race fast? Heck, she was about to give me a heart attack. HA HA HA HA

C'mon now, I know I'm not the only person watching "American Idol." Tonight's (Tuesday) show had 12 of the 36 remaining contestants performing.

Only three from Tuesday — the top guy, the top girl and the next-highest vote getter regardless of sex — will find out that they're safe on Wednesday's live results show, while the fourth-place finisher will appear March 5 during the "Wild Card" performance for a spot among the final 12 contestants.

Hands down, in my opinion tonight's best performance was by Danny Gokey of Milwaukee, Wis., he's a church music director. What I didn't realize until tonight's show was, just four weeks prior to his audition, his wife passed away. His performance tonight of Mariah Carey's "Hero" made cold chills run all over my body. The guy can definitely sing!!!

And what can I say about Ann Marie Boskovich of Nashville, Tenn., except for one ... she's BEAUTIFUL!!! I could care less if she can sing or not. I can just look at her and drool. HA HA HA HA HA ... I thought she did a good job singing Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman."

Alexis Grace of Memphis, she also did a great job singing Aretha Franklin's "I Never Loved a Man." But to be quite honest, I do not like her looks ... the short blonde hair with the pink highlights in it, to go along with those black fingernails.

And another Tennessean, Ricky Braddy, he opened the show and he did an awesome job singing Donny Hathaway's "A Song for You."

I also think Anoop Desai of Chapel Hill, N.C., did a good job.

I loved it when Tatiana Del Toro performed and Simon Cowell told her she's nothing but a "drama queen." HA HA HA HA ... I cannot stand her. She's whined and cried around since the show began, and it's time to send her packing back to Puerto Rico.

That Jackie Tohn, I believe she's from New York, I didn't really understand her choosing to sing Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation."

I don't know what 12 contestants will be featured in Wednesday's show.

I want to admit something. I've never phoned in and voted/participated in "American Idol" or any other TV show. But I did following tonight's show. I made a point of calling in and voting. I voted more than once, too. I had the phone on re-dial and I got through three times and voted for Ann Marie Boskovich. I started to call and vote for Danny Gokey, but I figured his performance alone would be more than enough to garner him phone votes to keep him on the show.

Well, I thought she did better than they gave her credit for last night.

I think Danny Gorke (12) and Alexis Grace (3) are in the top 12. Beyond that, it's a toss-up. Maybe "nup Dawg", and Maybe even oil rig roughneck Michael Sarver or the "Joan Jett" Chick Jackie for the 3rd and final spot.

I think Tatiana absolutely ruined her chance last night when she took on a Whitney Houston song. You don't do that 1st time out. I'll so miss her laugh though...NOT!

I didn't watch all of it last night but Gokey nailed a Mariah Carey song and those are as hard as any Whitney song. When they said he was going to sing heros I thought there is no way a man can pull it off but he did!!!!

Well, no Ann Marie Boskovich. And to be quite honest, I didn't really think she would advance to the final 12. But I was wanting her to, just because she's such a dang pleasant sight on the ol' eyes. HA HA HA

I was glad Michael Sarver advanced, he seems like such a really good ol' guy. I guess it goes to prove that sometimes indeed good guys do finish first. He didn't finish first, but he's advanced to the final 12.

I'm very glad that Tatiana Del Toro didn't advance. If she had, I wouldn't have watched anymore of this season's show. I'm not a big Simon Cowell fan, but I loved it when he just flat-out told her how it is ... that's she a "drama queen." Really, she could sing. But just too much theatrics with her.

On the next couple of shows, with each having 12 contestants, I want that idiot Nick or whoever he decides to call himself that day, and that other "drama king" guy who has those tattoos all over his arms, I want them both eliminated. They're both fruitcakes. HA HA HA

Something just hit me a few minutes ago about "American Idol" while I was eatin' a snack, I forgot about the "Wild Card" round.

And while I'd love to see Ann Marie Boskovich get another shot, I don't believe she will. But, I believe Anoop Desai most definitely will get a Wild Card shot. He's a very talented guy, and I'm sure he's got his fair share of female fans who could help him do well if he can get into the final 12 contestants.

I just hope that Tatiana Del Toro doesn't get another chance. She's nuthin' more than a spoiled-azz-brat, in my opinion. Her attitude is awful. Once Ryan Seacrest announced that Danny Gokey would advance into the final 12, I thought Tatiana was going to pitch a fit. When Ryan even tried to interview her, she just kind of brushed him off. She's very self-centered!!! It's all about Tatiana.

Hey "BugMan," you reckon there might be a chance we could start a write-in campaign for Lauren Conrad of "The Hills?"

In the words of Joey Logano in his Home Depot commercial at the end, when he sees all the people in the store ... Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

That's what I think about Lauren. She definitely makes my heart go pitter-patter. HA HA HA HA ... I've thought she was a doll-baby ever since I watched the show "Laguna Beach" on MTV when she was on it. And I don't miss an episode of "The Hills." LOL LOL LOL

Besides watching "American Idol," did anyone happen to watch this year's first show of the new "High School Reunion" last night on TV Land? I watched the show last year, it's pretty interesting seeing high school classmates 20 years later and all of their "drama."

I didnt call in and vote but I think the right three were picked.  I also liked "Noop Dog". Tatiana was a good singer but like they all said she was such a drama queen.

Hey ya'll!

Where's my props for picking the right ones LOL!? I had Danny and Alexis the whole way, with Noop Dawg or Michael makin it too.

RW...don't worry about Tatiana. This 12 might have actually been the weakest group of singers of the 3 groups.

You might also be right about Noop Dawg...I think he makes the wild card and ends up in the top 12 anyway. The only other person with a chance in that 12 is Braddy, but he has the personality of a Danica Patrick Twinkie, LOL!

Well RW...I was waiting on your comments about last night's performances. Are you like me, just knowing that except for Adam Lambert, you just don't know who will come out on top?

I think Adam can win it all. That dude sang Mick Jagger last night and slayed "Satisfaction". I'm not sure with the exception of Carrie Underwood that there has ever been a stronger contestant than that dude.

Anyway, Adam and Allison Iraheta had by far the best performances, and because of the poor performances of other contestants like Jasmine Murray (who really disappointed me last night), yes, entertainer Nick might just make it through.

RW, I refuse to watch American Idol until Ryan Seacrest is gone. I absolutely cannot stand him or the reality shows that he has produced like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Denise Richards: It's Complicated, Momma's Boy, Bromance, and the as-of-now untitled reality schmuck show with Paris Hilton. He is certainly doing his part to keep America's youth from realizing their intellectual potential. Sorry, but as long as Seacrest is hosting American Idol, I cannot bring myself to watch the show.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not a big Ryan Seacrest fan myself.

I guess it shows how closely I pay attention to the above reality shows you listed "Van_84," but I didn't realize Saecrest produced them. I'm familiar with the Kardashians and Denise Richards and Brody Jenner shows, but I don't know anything about "Momma's Boy."

I will admit to watching the Kardashians, but not the others.

Hey "BugMan," I've not watched last nights "American Idol" yet. I have it recorded. I was out at Milligan College last night and when I got home I watched the last half of the Vols and Mississippi State basketball game.

After tonight's picks I think America is doing a super job at selecting the right finalists'. So far though I haven't seen anyone that can beat Adam. He did the Stones some big time justice with that rendition of "Satisfaction".

Unless somebody steps up or someone just continues to get better each week, this dude would have to just fall flat on his face to not make the final 4 at the very least.

Dang RW! For somebody who "watches the show from beginning to end", you're slackin on the updates, hehehe!

Unlike last week, this week had several singers that did very well, which will make it interesting to see who America votes for. Also unlike last week, there is only one "clear-cut" contestant moving on, and that is the very last contestant that sang. Her name is Lil Rounds, and in my opinion is the best female by a mile in the competition.

Scott McIntyre, who is blind has had a sweet ride and a really good night last night as well. He will make it through to the next round too IMO. He is an accomplished pianist, and could also be top 5 material.

The last spot could go to one of at least 4 contestants/ It'll be interesting to see which one America puts through.

You were dead-on "BugMan" with Lil Rounds and Scott MacIntyre. I'll send a note to "American Idol" and let 'em know if Simon Cowell or Randy Jackson can't be on the show one night, "BugMan" will fill in. HA HA HA HA

Yeah, I guess Lil Rounds is a very talented, good singer and all. But I just don't care for her, though.

Scott MacIntyre is something else, he's such an inspiration to everyone. I believe once the finals begin he will really do well, because he feels comfortable sitting at his keyboard. I told one of my sister's that MacIntyre could be called a "white" Stevie Wonder.

Just speaking what's on my mind, well, I cannot believe Jorge Nunez was one of the three selected to advance on. I was stunned when Paula and Kara just went on-and-on about how great Jorge was following his performance Tuesday night of "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me." They were just gushing, telling Jorge how charming he was. Gaggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!! HA HA HA HA

Elton John and also George Michael, in my opinion, they both do awesome jobs in singing that song. I think Michael's version is even better than John's. And I've heard other "American Idol' contestants in the past who sang the song very well. But it just shows what I know, because I sure didn't think Jorge would advance. It's a good thing he wasn't relying on me to vote for him. Well, let me say this: The longer the judges let Jorge stand on-stage and them rave about him, and with him turning on the "tear factory," I thought that might play into voters' hands. I about guarantee you that Jorge got elected by the female phone voters!

Nunez, MacIntyre and Rounds join previously picked finalists Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver.

At the end of Wednesday's show, the judges also announced the semifinalists who will get a second shot at the top 12. They are Anoop Desai, Ricky Braddy, Von Smith, Jasmine Murray, Tatiana Del Toro, Megan Corkrey, Jesse Langseth and Matt Giraud will return to the stage for the wild card round Thursday (tonight). The judges will pick the final three finalists from that group.

From that group I'd like to see Desai, Braddy and Corkrey advance. Or even Murray. Corkrey is a lil' cutie-pie to say the least. I don't really think both Braddy and Corkrey will advance, being they both are country singers. You never know, though. But, I don't really believe Simon, Paula or Kara like country music. Randy, I've heard him say he listens to a lot of country music.

I'll throw my remote through the TV screen if that "drama queen" Tatiana gets selected for the finals. I knew when she got selected for the wild card, once again she'd start with her drama BS, cryin' and getting all theatrical. And sure enough, she did.

I was glad that both Nathaniel Marshall and Kristen McNamara didn't transfer from Tuesday night's show. Both are "drama queens." I couldn't stand Marshall. I'm glad he didn't advance, and also last week when Nick (or whoever he wants to call himself) didn't advance.

Heading into the finals, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert, Lil Rounds, Alexis Grace and Scott MacIntyre, I believe will be the five top competitors. I believe if Desai advances from the wild card round, he will be a contender. I couldn't believe he wasn't one of the top three from his round.

Through the preliminaries, my favorite I'll have to say is Danny Gokey. Michael Sarver is a really good ol' guy, but I believe he'll be one of the first contestants eliminated. I hope not, though.

Since Ann Marie Boskovich didn't even advance, I basically could care less about the female contestants remaining. I don't think she was one of the better singers, but I sure liked her looks. HA HA HA HA ... And just my opinion, when I think of female celebrities (actresses, singers), being I'm a guy ... I'm observing the "look factor." I'd also say the majority of females, when they observe male celebrities, they're also looking for the "look factor" too. When you think of Hollywood, what do most people think of? Glamourous Beauties!!!

Ju'Not Joyner is the only singer that got "scammed" IMHO. He is so much better than most of the wildcard finalists it's not even funny. I would've definitely put him in place of RW's favorite Tatiana, lol! She won't make it even if she somehow manages to have the best performance next week because America won't let it happen. The judges should've realized that she is too "over-the-top" and is basically "unadvanceable" (is that even a word, LOL).

Other than that, the judges picked them pretty much as I did. RW is also right about "Noop Dawg". He is by far the best singer in the wildcard round. If he'll pick a decent song, he'll move on and could make the top 5.

RW, Nunez absolutely deserved his spot. Stop looking at who they are and listen to how they're singing. Have you read all that kid has done just to be understood to the American public? He's from Puerto Rico for heaven's sake...he's not in the country illegally, so give the poor boy a break, LOL!

Anyway, none of that matters. Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds are clearly the best singers in the competition, and both will go on to be successful recording artists, even if they don't win it all. I honestly believe those two are the ones to beat at this point.

Hey RW...what about Paula Abdul? She must have worked out whatever it was she has been going through over the past few years, because she is making as much sense as anyone on the judges panel besides Simon. Kara has really surprised me with some of her obversations this season. I hope Paula re-signs for next season, because Kara is definitely not the answer...way too terse and unpredictable.

I also thought Ju'Not was better than some that got picked for the wild card .  BugMan there was an interview with Paula Abdul in this week OK magazine and she said she had her 15th surgery last August to correct her back and neck problems and is now pain free and pain-med. free, she said it's great to know that viewers can see how much better she is now.  They asked if this is her last season with AI and she said her contract is up this year and there are so many other things she wants to do but does not say she will not be back.

You know, I can't even picture/remember who Ju'Not was. I'm serious. He evidently make much of an impression on me.

Now "BugMan," I never said anything about Jorge being an illegal or even where he's from. I know he's from Puerto Rico, so therefore he's not an illegal. But it doesn't even matter to me where he's from or what he looks like, I just don't care for his singing. But for what it's worth, I don't listen to any Spanish/Hispanic music. If I cannot understand the words I'm hearing, I'm not listening to it. I know Paula and Kara went on about how much better he's done, after working on his vocabulary. I don't really remember him singing in the preliminaries that advanced him as one of the final 36 contestants to know if he sounded better singing Tuesday night or not.

I guess it shows my age, but it's like rap music (can it even be called music?) ... I don't listen to the stuff. Rap is just the letter "c" away from being called CRAP, in my opinion. The artists get to going on-and-on and I don't know what they're saying. HA HA HA HA ... Every time I'll flip channels by where Rap artists are performing, it's like they're screamin' around angry.

Well, Anoop Desai, Jasmine Murray, Megan Corkrey and Matt Giraud advanced ... and what about Desai getting in as the 13th contestant. Cool deal!!! That was wild, this year's show having a 13th opening.

I'm telling you, the teenage Murray really has a strong voice. She can definitely belt a song out, what lungs for the Mississippi girl.

Corkrey is kind of odd, but I like her. She's not a drop-dead gorgeous beauty, but something about her really catches my attention. HA HA HA HA

For some reason, I didn't even really remember Giraud from the earlier rounds. He just hadn't made much of an impression with me. But he's now one of the 13 finalists.

I forget now the song Tatiana sang, but I remember it was a Whitney Houston song. But what was wild is when she kneeled down and was pleading with the judges to keep her, when Ryan Seacrest told Tatiana she didn't have to get up off her knees. LOL LOL LOL ... Kara said "This is a family show, a family show."

The 13 finalists will start competing next Tuesday and there will be one singer sent packing each Wednesday. Wonder who will be the first contestant to leave the show?

I'm kind of disappointed that from this year's final contestants, there's not the "looks" of a Carrie Underwood or Kellie Pickler. HA HA HA HA ... Whew, is Underwood not the perfect female? Wow, she's sizzlin' HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think she's the prettiest "celebrity" out there today, be it Hollywood actresses, country or pop music singers.

Hey, maybe Simon, Paula, Kara and Randy need to hold "American Idol" auditions in Prestonsburg, Ky., and the Mountain Arts Center to get some "real talent" for the show.

Music-wise, my preferences are Southern and Classic Rock along with Country and Bluegrass. I attend a lot of Bluegrass pickin's, especially on weekends during the fall and winter. A couple buddies of mine have talked me into attending a show with them at Mountain Arts Center. I've heard of the place, but have never been there. Danny and Eric go up there often for Bluegrass shows. Neither of their wives care for Bluegrass music, so they load up and drive up U.S. Hwy. 23 to Kentucky and listen to Bluegrass.

They tell me the place is very nice and it offers a venue for local/regional talent and also top name performers to entertain people from Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and West Virginia. They've told me about the Kentucky Opry, which is held at the Mountain Arts Center. I don't know how big a place the MAC is, but I guess I'll find out. As long as it's good ol' Bluegrass, that's all that matters.

One thing about Bluegrass is, people either love it or despise it. I love it, and have for 30 years or more.
