Wonder why they didn't give source credit on the copied rules? They could have just linked to the pages.
http://www.lpraceway.net/rules3.asp
http://www.lpraceway.net/rules5.asp
Also, the name Pro Four might be confusing to some, because there is such a thing as a Pro Four Class, and it's a different breed of race car.
Having the rules on the UARA site may at least get some people to read some things which haven't been read before.
Something I have been wondering about, and don't get me wrong, I think it is wonderful that a race is being held at Kingsport Speedway, but if the UARA just needed a track at which to hold a makeup event why didn't they just take the event 40 miles up US23 to LPR? LPR does have the power and water on and wouldn't have to bring in Port-A-Johns for restrooms. The more I hear about this event, the more I see that LPR's management and officials are involved. One of the principals of LPR is an owner of the UARA, yet LPR is doing the leg work, a lot of the promotions and providing the rules for the support divisions. It appears that all except the parts and tire guy from LPR are involved in promoting this event at Kingsport. People talk about the two tracks working together. It would appear that LPR's folks are very involved in this promotion. Maybe there really is now some actual working together between Kingsport and Coeburn? Maybe there is something bigger in the works? Maybe with LPR's own management steering this event toward Kingsport rather than bringing the event and it's related track lease income, ticket sales, tire and parts sales, etc., to their own "open for business" race track and associates... just maybe there may be a greater plan in the works? Maybe this is a test?

One of the bigger reasons for the race being held at Kingsport is because they wanted a neutral site for the drivers. They didn't want the locals to have an advantage over the travelers, particularly with a close points race literally coming down to the wire. Nobody has raced at Kingsport (although some might have practiced there) since 2002.
I think if this race is successful, the possibility exists that Kingsport could be transformed into a special event track a few times per year. I don't believe however that this is part of something bigger, even though it's obvious that the track could benefit down the road from this.
It's coincidence that part of the ownership of the series resides near Coeburn, Va, and it makes perfect sense that many of the workers from there (LPR) are working this race due to knowledge, convenience, and ease of staffing. From announcement to race day is less than 60 days which is fast. There's no way they could've staffed it without cooperation from another track.

I think that all this is most likely a really good sign for Kingsport Speedway, fans and competitors in the Tri Cities area.
My point exactly was that the man who will be the man funding LPR next season, since all the other investors have stepped aside as of the end of this season, is fully behind this event being held at Kingsport. The support divisions which will run with the show are LPR support divisions and the published rules for the support races are the LPR rules. (You know that they could just as easily have run Newport's rules, or MMS rules, or just a run-what-you-brung support show.) Instead it's LPR's rules. LPR's promoter is working diligently on promotions for this Kingsport event, and LPR's official will be officiating.
I just think personally that it is a really good sign for Tri Cities area fans and racers that we are actually seeing this kind of effort being put forth by the LPR group to have a successful event at Kingsport even though LPR is also having its own big post season event this coming Saturday.

And I hope it's a sign that both Kingsport and LPR will have two UARA races next year!

Wonder why the race isn't posted on the sign going into the track at KS. Noticed it yesterday when I passed by there. Would be great advertising for the race and track!

That's a good question Woo-Woo...I guess everyone is hoping that word of mouth, along with a good count will bring enough fans in for the race. I would at least like to see an ad this Sunday, and maybe some radio or TV on it next week. Maybe they are going to do that...if they want optimum attendance, they really should. It would pay for itself, particularly with the Tenessee-Memphis game moving to the evening.

I heard radio ad on WXBQ last night. Starting to believe it may happen. I think racing starts at 2:00 pm.

Word-of-Mouth. There are some businesses that will work on a "Word-of-Mouth" advertising plan, but those are usually service businesses. When there is a time-sensitive event that depends upon having "fans in the stands" and a good car count, it's a good idea to ADVERTISE! ADVERTISE! ADVERTISE!
Personally, I would be advertising the living daylights out of this thing. First, get some fliers printed out ASAP and ask the local restaurants for permission to post it on the doors. It would make sense to me that people coming in from out of the area (i.e. UARA teams) would need a place to eat later.
I would also advertise on the local radio stations, maybe even ask someone if they could get a live band to play. I know for a fact that there is an amazing band playing in Bristol the night before and they've been wanting to see me drive a race car.
The organizers also need to get the word out to support divisions from other race tracks to increase the car count. Nearly every track will be finished by then, and remember, "racers want to race".
If there is little-to-no advertising and this event is a flop, consider Kingsport dead. However, if things are done correctly from an advertising standpoint, it could be the beginning of a new life for the track.
I'm excited about finally getting to race at my hometown track. I grew up in nearby Mt. Carmel, TN nearly all my life. I'll have to make sure that they announce my "hometown" instead of "residence" on the PA system. I need some hometown support. HAHA!

I heard this about 3rd hand at the track today, but evidently, there's supposed to be "a spread" coming out in the paper pretty quick.
Maybe Bobo (sorry...spelled that backwards, LOL) knows something!

The sign down at the entrance on John B. Dennis has a banner hanging on it. I saw it with my own eyes when I was at the track on Wednesday. Evidently "WOO-WOO," Kerry Bodenhamer with UARA brought the banner over with him to put up.
I know fliers have been printed. I saw them!!!
And radio spots are currently running on WXBQ, the 99.3 station and I mentioned I felt spots needed to be run on WXSM (The Sports Monster) sports talk radio at AM 640 in the Tri-Cities.
Also, I had my buddy Jeff Birchfield from the Johnson City Press with me at the track on Wednesday, and he'll have a feature story in this coming Sunday's Johnson City Press.
Randall Perry rode over to the track with me and took some photos today, too.

9 more days! That's all! Just 9 days until Kingsport Speedway comes back to life!
Big Saturday practice in 2 days...I'd say you'll see cars practicing there almost every day from here until the 7th of Nov. as well.
I heard several spots 2day on the radio, so they're doing it the right way. RW is spot on...they definitely need to do something with WXSM (The Sports Monster...AM640) next week, even if they just want to do a top of the hour "Sponsored by" and a brief about the day and time of the race. That wouldn't be expensive at all...
...as a matter of fact if someone will give me KLB's number via PM, I'll put the Acct Exec in touch with him. I can only plug it myself on there for so long. I laid it on thick during my call on Tuesday afternoon, spending about 90-120 seconds discussing it on the air with Bill (Meade).
