Wythe Raceway and the FASTRAK Racing Series welcomes you to the 7th ANNUAL $10,000 to win, $500 to start PRO LATE MODEL NATIONALS. IN 2009 a new tradition began for the event with the winner taking home a beautiful SUPER BOWL STYLE CHAMPIONS RING! As stated from last year’s winner Shanon Buckingham upon receiving the ring “wow, this is a lot nicer than I would have ever dreamed”, it has become one of the more prestigious titles in late model racing. The event also features a 32 car starting field making it once again a “once in a lifetime event”.
Former Champions of this event have been, 2004 Kelly Fegter, 2005 Shane Roberts, 2006 Lee Cooper, 2007 Kenny Peeples Jr, 2008 Austin Dillon and in 2009 Shanon Buckingham. No one has ever repeated the win for this event evidence of just how close the competition truly is. The event has become a fan favorite with the infamous pit stop on the front straight at the half way point. 15 minutes for the teams to do anything they want to their cars right in front of the strong contingent of fans. If a team changes a tire they have to go to the rear of the lead lap then make their way back to the front of the field. Randy Weaver almost did just that in 2008. The event also host a HUGE CHAMPIONSHIP CUP once again making this one of the more coveted prizes in motorsports today.
