NASA wanting to send men to Mars, they must be better things they could study here on Earth and in our own atmosphere. If they ever do they will find out God made Mars also, because where ever man goes he will find out God has already been there...

What is the purpose for going to Mars anyway? They say to find if they are life there. Myself I think would be better to take what they are spending going to Mars and use it to try to save lives here on Earth..

Just a curious question ..... and I am not saying that we should or shouldn't explore Mars and beyond.... but on what planet would the "billions of dollars" for the Mars project be spent?  In what country would thousands of workers be put to work (as was the case in this country in the late 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's). Since the 80's,with no new spacecraft being developed and utilized, the aerospace industry became more maintenance oriented, but a whole new endeavor would create thousands upon thousands of J-O-B-S, and lead to even more astounding and wonderful new products and industrial applications and opportunities... such as this once great country of ours experienced during the "boom years" of space exploration.

Should we simply tax the 1% more heavily in order to share the existing wealth with the other 99% until China owns everything we once had .... or should we maybe create REAL jobs and opportunities and build the taxpayer base to increase our GNP and work toward becoming finacially solvent nation. Programs such as the Mars project are but one way to actually boost the economy. Developing our vast domestic energy reserves is another, building the Canadian oil pipeline is another. Our once great space program was a tremendous boost to our economy, not a drain. The fallacy is in looking only at "what it costs" and in not realizing where that money goes or what benefits are derived from such a program.
