I was hoping the next post would read:

U.S. says face to face meeting between Iran and Allah can be arranged.

Iran is stupid.  Sears and Kmart, well, they're just too slow to change for their own good.

Saw on the news this morning where "activists" and ministers are demanding that Michael Jordan and Nike take appropriate action to produce more Air Jordan shoes and lower the price drastically .... "in order to end the bloodshed and violence associated with with the demand for those shoes"......

Yep ... that HAS to be THE biggest issue facing this world today......

...if only those activists and ministers would be so concerned about poverty and hunger.   Gotta have the shoes above all else....

Personally, I don't have a problem with Kmart and Eddie Lampert going under...

Kmart and Sears do still sell some American made products. That is my biggest concern. But, as Robbie pointed out, they have stayed in the old locations and have not upgraded their stores, and customers went to the higher class Walmart and Target locations.  Just this week I went to both Kmart and Walmart up near Claypool Hill.  Went to Walmart first to find the item I needed. Took quite a while to find a parking spot..... must have been 1000 cars in the parking lot .... waded through the post-Christmas mass of shoppers .... only to find that Walmart apparently couldn't get a Chinese version of what I was looking for. The clerk's response to me after she had checked, "We don't carry them".   So, I drove over to the old Claypool Hill Mall and went to Kmart. Yep... It's an older mall, and yep, it's an older Kmart .... not as "upscale" as the big Walmart over on the main highway ... and it will probably be closing soon. There were only about six cars in the parking lot near Kmart and I swear that I saw only three other customers in the store when I was there ..... BUT, they had what I was looking for and the tag said "Made in the USA". And, the price was better than the price of the Chinese couterpart I had seen on the Walmart web site (only to hear "We don't carry them" at the store).

And personally, I like both Sears and Kmart and not only because of the lack of foot traffic either. I've always bought my lawnmowers at Sears, got my oil changed at Sears yesterday in one of my vehicles. But, that particular Sears opened in March of 1983 and it still looks exactly the same, both inside and out, as it did back then. That's fine for me or someone like Lynn that's more product oriented but for most shoppers they are driven by glitz, glamour and newness.....and that's the shoppers that Kmart and Sears are losing.

Eric Holder: Too Many Guns Have Fallen Into Wrong Hands

Eric Holder: Too Many Guns Have Fallen Into Wrong Hands
UPI
Eric Holder is worried that too many criminals have access to guns that kill cops.

Attorney General Eric Holder, whose Department of Justice orchestrated the Fast and Furious gunwalking scheme to supply Mexican drug cartels with illegal firearms, released a statement on Wednesday decrying the fact that too many people who are not legally permitted to own guns have access to them.

The AG’s remarks followed the release of a report from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund that showed a 13 percent increase in the number of Federal, State and local officers who died in the line of duty, from 153 in 2010 to 173 in 2011.

“This is a devastating and unacceptable trend. Each of these deaths is a tragic reminder of the threats that law enforcement officers face each day — and the fact that too many guns have fallen into the hands of those who are not legally permitted to possess them,” said Holder. “Departments across the country have mourned the loss of too many dedicated colleagues and friends, but my colleagues and I at the Justice Department are determined to turn back this rising tide. I want to assure the family members and loved ones who have mourned the loss of these heroes that we are responding to this year’s increased violence with renewed vigilance and will do everything within our power — and use every tool at our disposal — to keep our police officers safe.”

Guns provided via Fast and Furious are known to have been used in the killings of at least one law enforcement officer in 2010, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and another in 2011, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata.

Holder’s statement came with the announcement of a number of new officer-protection initiatives to be headed by the Justice Department.
