“Battle of the Bluegrass” Ultimate Super Late Model Series set to roll into Atomic Speedway
(Carnesville, Georgia) 5/17/2016 – The next stop on the $350,000, 22 event “Battle of The Bluegrass” Ultimate Super Late Model Touring Series schedule is slated for Saturday May 28 at Atomic Speedway. Located in Waverly, Ohio just south of Chillicothe, the high banked facility is billed as the fastest 3/8 mile track in Ohio. A full field of “Battle of The Bluegrass” Ultimate Super Late Model teams will be competing for a share of over $17,000 with the race winner collecting $3,000.
Track owner Brad McCown, who acquired Atomic in 2013, is no stranger to hosting marquee race events, hosting the “Battle of The Bluegrass” Ultimate Super Late Model Touring Series is McCown’s latest effort in providing southern Ohio race fans opportunities to see the best dirt track racing has to offer.
Perhaps the biggest element that promises to make the Atomic Speedway event a “must see” is the current “Battle of The Bluegrass” Ultimate Super Late Model Touring Series point standings. Jeremy Hines of Seymour, Indiana clings to a slim 3 point lead over Bryantville, Kentucky’s Dustin Linville. Jason Jameson of Lawrenceburg, Indiana sits one marker behind Linville.
In addition to the “Battle of The Bluegrass” Ultimate Super Late Model Series, other Atomic Speedway classes that will be in action are the 410 Sprints, AMRA Modifieds, AMRA Sport Mods and Race Saver 305's
The pits will open at 2 PM and grandstands will open at 4 PM. Hot laps are slated to get underway at 6 PM.
