It's been COLD and a lil' snowy around the region. It goes without saying, I'd much rather it be warm than COLD. And just think, it's not even officially winter yet.

But where parts of the region received snowfall on Saturday, here in Johnson City it only flurried and just a trace accumulated on the deck at my home. But I know from Gray on towards Kingsport over into Southwest Virigina, that's where snow accumulated covering the roads and making them treacherous for travel.  

What is the first day of winter, on Dec. 20 or 21, I'm thinking? I want winter to officially arrive, then we can start counting down to the first of spring.

Here the region has already experienced seven nights with low temperatures in the teens, and we've had three small little snows. We can add tonight as another night in the teens, too.

Hurry up springtime, that's what I'm looking forward to.
