Once again the former almighty Kentucky Wildcats struggled again this year. It dont appear UK will make the NCAA tourny unless if they win the SEC tourny and that wont happen I dont think. I just seen where athletic director Mitch Barnhart said they would play in the NIT and they would host a first round game in the NIT. The funny thing is that if they do play in the NIT and host a first round game then it will be played in Memorial Coliseum because of high school state playoffs scheduled at Rupp Arena

Kind of weird isn't it Bobby...
you're spot on about winning the SEC tourney in order to make the NCAA's, but I wouldn't put it past them. The SEC tourney will be wide open just like it has been all year in the regular season.
I honestly don't think they made the right coaching decision. There's just as much talent on that team as any other in the nation with the exception of just a few. LSU, Tennesse, and South Carolina aren't playing good ball right now. It's so bad in the SEC this season that you might freak out when I tell you who I think will win the tournament...
...it'll be your Wildcats or the mighty War Eagles from the University of.

For one thing, I think it's crazy the SEC tournament being held in Tampa, Fla. When you look at locations that are friendly for all SEC schools, the tournament being held at the Sommet Center in Nashville makes good sense. The tournament being held in Atlanta and Birmingham (past sites) also makes good sense. But way south in Tampa doesn't.
Jeff Lebo has done a great job getting the best out of the Auburn Tigers this year. But I don't believe the Tigers will win the SEC tournament. I know ol' "raceparrot" would love seeing that happen, though. HA HA HA
First year coach Trent Johnson did an excellent job guiding LSU to the overall SEC regular season championship.
I also think Andy Kennedy did a good job at Ole Miss, especially when you take into consideration he lost three starters early in the campaign with season-ending knee injuries.
I expected more out of John Pelphrey's Arkansas Razorbacks.
Vanderbilt had a pretty good season, especially when you consider that their best returning player from last year was A.J. Ogilvy. Vandy was a very young squad this season.
When you look at Billy Donovan's Florida Gators, they've got over 20 wins. But look at the Gators' out-of-conference schedule and it was very weak. They're RPI and SOS is bad.
Kentucky fans are getting what they deserve, because they ran a good coach in Tubby Smith off. I believe Kentucky would've been better off leaving their current coach at Texas A&M. But he might lead the Wildcats to the national title in the next year or so, you never know. One thing's for certain, though ... he's feeling heat in the Bluegrass State these days from disgruntled Big Blue fans.
A well-known racer in the region, I exchange e-mails with his uncle, who has worked at UK for over 30 years in administration, on a weekly basis. Oh, he's soooooooooooooooooooo upset with the current state of Kentucky basketball. But he did like rubbin' it in on me that the Wildcats kicked the Vols' butts in both meetings this year. HA HA HA HA

Hey Bobby, don't write your Wildcats off just yet. They've got talent. Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson, that's a dynamic duo.
I believe Kentucky's problems are very similar to that of the Vols. Both teams lack focus. What's the reason a team lacks focus? Could it be coaching? A well-prepared team is focused game-in and game-out.
The Vols could very well break a longtime drought and win the SEC tournament, or they could be one-and-done and back home in Knoxville. You never know which Vols team will show up to play.
But one thing's for sure, when you shoot 10-22 from the foul line, you're not going to win games in the Boys' Club League, much less in the Southeastern Conference. The Vols going 10-22 from the charity stripe in Sunday's loss to Alabama, look at those front-end misses of one-and-one opportunities, you're giving up a possible two points.
The Vols just weren't focused. SEVERAL people I've talked with since Sunday's game, everyone was kind of puzzled with post-game comments from coach Bruce Pearl.
I'd love seeing the Vols win the SEC championship this week. And like always, I'll be pulling for the Big Orange.
Hey "BugMan," I'll guarantee you one thing: Pearl will recruit a top-notch point guard for next year. Do you agree? Bobby Maze has not produced this year, and really neither has Josh Tabb. One game Maze will play well, then he'll go two or three games and be off the radar.
GO VOLS!!!

The Cats are still in there. I listen on the radio and sounded like they might be ready for a run. Balanced scoring and great rebounding today. Now they have to get by LSU!!!

Also read this evening that there's a good chance Patterson is coming back next season.

I watched UK play Thursday, and they did look good in getting the "W." But in all likelihood, LSU probably ending hopes of the Wildcats going to the Big Dance. Instead the Big Blue will go "clogging" in the NIT.
Dang, Jodie Meeks only had eight points today. And the Wildcats need more offensive production from him if they're going to win. Patrick Patterson led Kentucky today in scoring, I believe he had like 15 or 17.
Like the TV commentators said today, if Kentucky doesn't get an at-large bid, it will be the first time they've missed out on the NCAA's since 1991.
I believe if Kentucky had've made it to the semifinals, they would've gotten an NCAA bid.
I noticed a sign or two negative towards Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie. I'm sure he's feeling the heat from the Wildcat fans.

Let me tell ya RW, Gillespie isnt the only one feeling the heat, AD Mitch Barnhart is feeling it also. UK fans are not use to this with there basketball program and they wont deal with it much longer. I cant believe I am worried about UK not making the tourny instead of worrying about what seed they are going to be. Cant believe how things have changed in last 10 years

After what happened to them in the SEC Tournament, I'm afraid the Wildcats are out. With time winding down in their loss the other day, their own announcer stated "...and the Cats are headed to the NIT".
Neither Ky or Florida is going to make it.
