For the first time in many years, I watched the Miss USA Pageant Sunday evening. It will be my last.

The final questions the 5 finalists were asked were hideous at best, were all political and controversial topics, NONE of them had a place in that type of environment, and the judges; well, let's just say I'm surprised that they were approved by Donald Trump and leave it at that.

The possibility that this pageant was won or lost due to the answers to these questions is D-U-M-E DUMB!

I sure hope others have clicked the link "BugMan" included in his post and read the FOX News article.

You know, it's been TOUGH for me to not reply with my thoughts/opinions regarding the deal with Miss California. Hey, I applaud the young woman for taking her stance, and stating - "I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Would somebody please explain to me what was wrong with her answer? I'll tell you ... not a doggone thing. All this bullcrap of having to be politically correct in what we say today, it's just that - bullcrap.

I was raised in church, my late father was an ordained Southern Baptist minister. He never full-time held a pastor position at any church, though he did fill in preaching at our home church and he visited preaching at other churches. Plus, he was Chairman of Deacons at our church for many years.

I'm so very thankful for the wonderful parents both my sisters and I had. They raised us teaching what was right and what was wrong. What's accepted and what's not accepted. I was raised thinking men were supposed to be with women. Not men with men, or women with women.

I have no tolerance for the Perez Hilton's and other "in-your-face" gays/lesbians in the world today, who think it's OK to cram in your face their gay/lesbian views. I'm not listening, bottom line!!!!! The gays/lesbians can say it's a personal lifestyle choice, their lifestyle choice. I don't care what they say, it's not right. It's NOT RIGHT according to the word of God written in the Bible. That's all I need to know, too. I'm not going to listen to what any liberal-thinking gay/lesbian is going to tell me. I'm a conservative, and I'm proud to be, too.

Gay Pride Day? I don't know the date, but I know each year when it rolls around, on TV news channels we always see video footage showing them marching.

C'mon people, look at what's happening in the world today. Gay marriage rights? In my thoughts/opinions, they shouldn't have any rights. Why? Because they shouldn't even be married to start with. Men are not supposed to sleep with or marry another man. And likewise, women are not supposed to sleep with or marry another woman.

Is it right Miss California was possibly held back from being crowned Miss USA all because of her answer to that "fruitcake" Perez Hilton, when he asked about her stance regarding same-sex marriage? Miss Carrie Prejean said "I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

If Perez Hilton and all other gays/lesbians didn't like her answer, well, tough crap. Get over it!!!!!

I could go on-and-on typing, but I won't. But I want to say this: I don't hate the gays/lesbians (I don't hate anyone), it's their lifestyle choice/decisions I am 110 percent totally against. One of my best friend's from childhood, his brother who was a couple of years older than us, he's gay. He's a good, friendly person. Very thoughtful. He and I have discussed our thoughts/opinions regarding gays/lesbians over the years. And we've just agreed to disagree. He knows I'll never change how I feel. His brother feels the same way I do, too. But nonethelss their differences, both brothers love one another.

I'm just sick-and-tired of the Hollywood-types and their liberal views regarding gays/lesbians. I'm very thankful I don't live in a state that recognizes gay/lesbian marriage.

I encourage everyone to click the link in "BugMan's" post and read the FOX News article.

What I posted above, everyone who knows me know I wouldn't deliberately offend anyone. But just like Miss California, I'm speaking how I feel regarding gays/lesbians, same-sex marriage and gay/lesbian rights.

Am I being politically correct in stating how I feel? No, I'm sure not. But I'm being "Christian morally correct," and that's what matters to me. I'm standing up for and speaking out publicly about my beliefs in denouncing the gay/lesbian lifestyle. It's a lifestyle choice I view as unacceptable.

Hey RW if being politically correct means you have to just fall in and support these people then count me out also! Just one more reason why I can't get behind pageants, that and how they put make up on these little kids, it's sick. That perez hilton should be ashamed of himself though, he included in the end of his question what do you think, then ridiculed her for giving her opinion.

By saying "what do you think" he did ask for her personall opinion, then they said that  they did no such thing. They said Miss U.S.A. should say whatever she needs to say to make people happy, I think that is a lot of what is wrong with this country right now! Whatever though I'm glad I don't have the chance to talkto Perez Hilton, I bet I'd give him my opinion for sure!

rw I agree, there is nothing wrong with her stating her beliefs, though I thought that particular question was innapropriate to ask if they were looking for a certain answer. It seems like they knew what they were looking for and she was set up for failure unless she altered her beliefs. Everyone has a right to think what they want and believe what they want. I may disagree with her beliefs, but I think she still has a right to think and feel what she wants

RW, I agree with you 100% on your post. If God, whom I believe in with my heart, mind and soul wanted this kind of lifestyle he would of made us unisex like NIGHT CRAWLERS!!!! Two worms meet up, get it on and BOTH have baby worms!!!

Only good thing that come from that life style is "population control" in my book!!!

This is my opinion and I WON'T apologize to no one for it.

I am not going to get into the issue of Gay Rights, Religious Beliefs, and whatnot right now. The only thing that I want to say in the first half of this post is that Perez Hilton is among the filth of the earth. His homosexuality has absolutely nothing to do with this opinion whatsoever. Hilton has used the exploitation of celebrities on the World Wide Web to gain his fame and fortune.

In reality, he is a sad, little man that cannot operate without feeling the ultimate need to tear down another human being. This type of despicable person can be of either gender, any racial composition, and of any sexual persuasion. The fact of the matter is that we are talking about Perez Hilton, the self-proclaimed queen of the blogosphere.

As for Miss Prejean, I have to agree with Hilton that her stance on the issue is not what caused her to lose the crown. The thing that kept her from winning is the way in which she answered the question. First, she answered the question, which was fine. However, she followed it up with a personal belief that stated that the way she was raised fully determines her outlook on the world. Once again, no offense to anyone, but the Miss USA titleholder needs to be an open-minded person that can think past her own upbringing.

It's a big world out there and there are many, many people that do not believe in Christian theology. In fact, homosexuality among men used to be the norm in preparation for warriors taking wives. It just seems to me that Miss Prejean forgot about that and it showed in her answer. If she had stopped with "Well I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage", then she would have walked away with the Miss USA crown.

Hilton should never have been selected as a judge, be he was and nothing can change that decision. However, Miss Prejean made the mistake of continuing with her response when she should have stopped. The way that she made her response was very condescending and I could not have given her the crown if I were a judge either. As a pageant contestant, you MUST know the judges and how they will respond to your words. Miss Prejean made a mistake and it cost her the Miss USA title.

Whether or not you agree with her response, the fact of the matter is that her delivery was horrible. I have worked beauty pageants before, as high as the Miss Virginia and Miss Teen Virginia pageants. All of the contestants are coached on exactly HOW to respond, not what to say. Miss Prejean's tone was very inappropriate for a pageant response, regardless of the question.

She may walk away with a moral victory, which is probably going to be more beneficial to her in the long run. If I were Miss Prejean, I would take the moral victory of standing up for what she believes instead of the Miss USA title crown; especially when it has become a big joke. Of course, that's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. Pageants USED to mean something...

Does that mean there might be an opening?

I'll tell you the truth BugMan, I've never been surrounded by so many beautiful women at once. There were also a couple of NASCAR related faces there. One time, Steven Wallace was a judge, while Jon Wood's sister was a contestant. Part of her segment included bragging about supporting Jon out in baseball/softball. We all know why Steven was there...haha!
