Give this one day to thanks, to joy, to gratitude! We give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

Thanksgiving is nothing if not a glad and reverent lifting of the heart to God in honor and praise for His goodness.

So thankful for today and all the yesterdays that I have had. Tomorrow I don't worry about. Thankful everyday for the blessings that God has seen fit to send my way. Most of all the memories that I have of Thanksgivings gone by.

Funny how so much has changed from when I was a child to now. Every Thanksgiving , weather permitting, was spent at my Grandfather's place killing their hogs.

Every uncle, aunt and cousins for miles around would show up, even from Kingsport!! Back then that seems like a long way to travel to a child! With four uncles, five aunts and umpteen cousins on mom side it felt more like Christmas with all the family members present.

Soon as breakfast was over the aunts would start on dinner. Back then they only had a wood cook stove. BOY the meals tasted so much better back then.

I miss those days when things seem to go at a slower pace. Now days everybody seems in such a hurry basically to get to nowhere fast.

Lets remember the ones that have lost loved ones and the soldiers that are not at their family table this year.
