Here's some trivia:

2000s: January 1, 2000 - December 31, 2009
21st Century: January 1, 2001 - December 31, 2100

First day of the 3rd Millennium?

JANUARY 1, 2001

Why? Simple, the Romans did not have a symbol for the 'Year 0'.

I always detested the notion that '2000' was the 'millenium', which many erroneously presumed. Oh well, no big Y2K meltdowns either, but we're working on a way to avoid similar issues on January 19, 2038.

I am more curious as to how computers will handle the non-leap year in 2100 when using long-term forecasts.
