Bug Junior is being moved to Vilseck, Germany as part of the Stryker Cavalry Brigade that will deploy to Afghanistan for a year. He will go to Vilseck in April, then on to Afghanistan shortly thereafter. He will then go back to Vilseck and serve the remaining year of his Army career unless of course he decides to re-enlist.

As many of you know, he is a Combat Medic, so Bug Sr is always worried when he deploys. He has gained a tremendous amount of experience while in Ft Campbell. He has worked in the hospital and supervised several soldiers while there. He has also made it to E-5 which from what I understand is pretty good for a kid that will turn 22 tomorrow.

Your prayers have always been greatly appreciated. I don't care to state that I am actually allot more worried about this deployment than I was Iraq, even though I know he saw a whole lot of bad in Iraq. Afghanistan is a different animal...unlimited places to hide and ambush.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of our military daily, even the ones that don't like Dale Earnhardt Jr (winking at Bobby, LOL).

Anyway, he is actually pumped about serving in the field again...I reckon that is a good thing...

Hey Bobby...are you on land right now? I think remember reading something about how cold it was, but I could be mistaken.

Bobby great to have you home, even if it for just awhile.

Scott, Josh is one of a kind!!! Not many kids have attained what he has attained and never will. He has drive and determination and that is something for the rest of us to admire!!

Keeping all our troops in our prayers!!!

Bug making E-5 at the age of 22 is really good. I was 23 when I made it. I am home for 3 years now. I am on shore duty so no overseas deployments for 3 years. Only time I will be away from home is later this month I go to Great Lakes, IL for school for 35 days then home every night

Hey Scott, most definitely I will remember you and "Bug Jr." as he prepares for his deployment, and while he's in Afghanistan.

And Bobby, I'm glad you're safely back home on American soil.

I wish all of our military men and women the very best while in the Middle East, and hope and pray for your safe return home.
