FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY NASHVILLE PARTNERS WITH XSAN TO BROADCAST 2014 RACES
SILVER BAY, MN (Mar. 28, 2014) -- The leader in motorsports web streaming, XSAN, announced today that they have reached an agreement with the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tenn., to stream the entire Big Machine Challenge Series LIVE in addition to the All-American 400 weekend. The first LIVE race broadcast will also include the second race of the Southern Super Series on Saturday, April 5.
"This is an exciting time for everyone involved in this agreement," said Barry Braun, CEO of XSAN. "Fans of the storied track can watch their big events as they happen, even if they're unable to travel to the speedway. The track and its sponsors will also benefit from the added social media buzz, helping to create more value for the business partners who make racing happen at the speedway each week."
Every LIVE event broadcast will cover the entire racing program, including every lap of the highly-anticipated Big Machine Challenge Series for the track's late model division. Each Big Machine race pays $5000 to the winner and is expected to draw cars from areas and regions not normally seen at the high-banked .596-mile track.
Tony Formosa, the promoter of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville said, “Big Machine's involvement was the greatest thing to happen at the speedway in my three years as the promoter. The word is already spreading like wildfire about those races. This partnership with XSAN will definitely make the pie even sweeter for everyone and I can’t wait to get it started.”
"We saw what XSAN could do last fall to help boost the value for our sponsors and exposure for our racers," said Terry Lambert, head of public relations at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. "We've already had big interest in our races this year, and we wanted to capitalize on XSAN's promotional power this season to increase that. Thanks to their content pieces, social media channels went wild like we had never seen during last fall's All-American 400. We anticipate this agreement will help to create more interest in our events than we have seen in a very, very long time."
As part of the agreement, XSAN will make last year's All-American 400 pro and super late model races available for free viewing. Both feature events and the super late model last chance race will be available in the days leading up to the season opener at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Fans will be able to re-live the excitement of the inaugural Southern Super Series championship battle that saw Daniel Hemric and Bubba Pollard separated by a single point at the checkered flag. The final round of the 2013 Hunter Sand and Gravel pro late model title fight saw a dramatic turn as former NASCAR star Sterling Marlin was forced to recover from a late-race spin that jeopardized his title hopes while chasing Tucker Wingo.
Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville is one of the most historic and influential tracks in the history of stock car racing. Track champions and race winners who advanced to the top tiers of the sport include NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip, Daytona 500 Champion Sterling Marlin (who still races at the track), the late Bobby Hamilton, former Nationwide Series Champion Jeff Green, and former Nationwide Series phenom Casey Atwood.
The facility hosted the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series up until the 1980s, in addition to the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series through the 2000 season. Other notable winners in the track's past include NASCAR Hall-of-Fame inductees Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace, and Bobby Allison, in addition to legendary drivers like Benny Parsons, Buddy Baker, Randy LaJoie, Gary St. Amant and more. Current NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Chase Elliott won at the facility last year, while up-and-coming star Ross Kenseth won there in 2012.
XSAN has earned a reputation for unparalleled coverage of events they stream to a worldwide audience. Exclusive content excerpts and interviews from races across the country are available on XSAN's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube). XSAN is the video home of East Bay Raceway Park's Florida Speedweeks events, the Motocross League of America, the IMCA Supernationals, the Duel in the Desert at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and now the All-American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. April 5 will mark the start of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville’s 56th season of racing. The speedway will host ten different divisions of racing during that night, totaling 450 laps of action, including the second race of the Southern Super Series super late model tour.
